What is the Dallas TeleCollege and how long has DCCCD been involved in distance learning?
Dallas TeleCollege is the online campus of the DCCCD, allowing students to take classes or complete a degree online without ever setting foot on campus. We produced our first television-based course back in 1972. In the 35 years that have followed, this high quality courseware has continued to evolve and leverage the latest innovations in technology and teaching theory.

Students who:
- Are seeking a degree and are enrolled in at least six hours of DCCCD distance learning classes (9000 section courses) in a fall or spring semester
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5
- Have no outstanding debt with any DCCCD Financial Aid Office.

How do I apply for the Ted Pohrte Scholarship?
Mail or fax the following to Angela Auzenne at the Dallas Telecollege:
- The complete application for the Ted Pohrte Scholarship, along with
- A 250-word essay on “What Distance Learning Means to Me” and
- A transcript of previous high school and college work. An unofficial transcript may be accepted with the application form, but an official transcript is required within 30 days of application.
