NASA Wants You: Apply Now to Become a NASA Aerospace Scholar

This article appeared in a 2015 issue of the student newsletter.

Have an interest in space, engineering or other STEM disciplines? Apply now to be a NASA Aerospace Scholar. If accepted, you will spend three days at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston and meet NASA engineers. And DCCCD will pay for it all!

The deadline to apply is Dec. 15, 2015, at 2 p.m. A five week online training session will take place in January and February, 2016.  Student selections will take place in March.  Finalists will then travel to the NASA Johnson Space Center for three days in April or May, 2016.

If you're chosen as a finalist, you'll take part in a team project directed by NASA engineers, attend astronaut briefings and take a tour of NASA facilities. You will also learn about NASA internships, fellowships, scholarships, and other education opportunities that you can get involved with.

While many students who participate in the program have a strong background in computers and/or science and engineering, other students are welcome to apply, too. Part-time and full-time credit students of the colleges of DCCCD can apply.
